Hey check this out, The Strange Kids Club have just posted up an interview they did with us. It's a rad site all about the cool stuff we loved when we were kids and more.... CHECK IT OUT!!!
We were also asked to contribute some art to a book they're putting together. 'The Strange Kid Anthology' features over 20 indie artists who have contributed both pin-ups and short comics featuring their blue-pompadoured mascot...
ON A SIDE NOTE... A little while ago the peeps over at Dumm Comics asked us to contribute a comic to their weekend slot. We're super stoked to be considered as all of the artists over there are pretty much our heroes. It's a little daunting but hopefully it'll go well - you'll be able to check it out this weekend so be sure to head on over!!
Last year we took a trip to the States, you might remember, we didn't shut up about it for a while. Anyway, we took a little pitch book full of ideas and we had one spare page that needed to be filled. So like rabid crazies, we whipped this little sucka up. When we get more time we'd like to do a few more with these little fellas.
We were once again asked to contribute some artwork for the Channel Frederator Awards programme, the theme this year is "Robots in the Metropolis". Thanks for letting us be a part of it fellas! Maybe Camp Fear will be up for an award this year ;)
Well this has been in the works for a little while now, just after we won the Auckland 48Hours Film comp with Camp Fear in fact, but the New Zealand version of 20/20 are doing a story on us and we went into their studios the other night to record our interviews about why we love making cartoons and how we want to take over the world, it was very surreal! At this stage it looks like it'll air sometime mid-March but we'll keep you posted. Here's some pics Alex took of Tim and Ryan getting interviewed...
Heres a bonus, since we're feeling jovial and wanted to make things busier for ourselves, we're posting 2 Overbite's week. Just a little Christmas cheer from your friendly neighbourhood Mukeroos!!
Alex and his wifey Karla have also made some toys of their cat for an exhibition they're having next month (December 11th-22nd @ Satellite Gallery, Auckland City)...
So we've been given the opportunity to make a weekly comic for a local gig guide here in New Zealand and we wanted it be super retarded, this is the result...
We've been busy working away on a new project for the last 2 weeks and we're finally finished. So here's what the idea was. A kids show here in NZ, Studio 2, ran a competition asking kids to make a comic strip starring the "Colgate Taste Buddies" as part of a month long dental hygene promotion. The winning entry would then be turned into an animated short made by.....us!! We thought this was a pretty cool idea, so we were keen to jump aboard (even though once again we had an ungodly time limit of only 2 weeks).
So here's the winning entry that we chose, we felt this entry had the most potential for some great characters. The main bad guy, Mouth Evil (whom I got to provide the voice for), was too cool a character to pass up. Big props have to go to Tim for his kick ass job animating the villian, nice job dude!!
Pretty cool aye? Now here's our redesign attempts....
and here's the final animated short. Hope you all enjoy it. (If the Youtube player below doesn't work, head over to www.mukpuddy.com and check it out under animation). Ryan.
