Wild Things Are Here....

I ‘ve been visiting the blog Terrible Yellow Eyes for a while now and love the idea to bits! I asked Cory if he’d be keen for me to contribute and said he loved my stuff so here’s what I put together, it’s really cool to be involved in such a cool project…

Happy Chocolate Day!!!

Well, it's that time of the year again, where we remember that 2000 years ago some fella sadly passed away from eating heaps of chocolate eggs and bunnies.... or something like that!?
I was watching an awesome episode of Ying Yang Yo the other day and it inspired me to throw this together, hope everyone has a cool holiday!!

Mukpuddy Sketchbook

Hey folks,

It's been a while since our last post. Things have been pretty busy at Mukpuddy. Got a bunch of jobs we are trying to complete so we can have a bodacious Christmas holiday.

This October we attended the NZ Armageddon Pulp Culture Expo (Imagine San Diego comic but 100 times smaller). We made up our first Mukpuddy Sketch-book which we had on sale, it proved pretty popular, so now we've slapped all 36 glorious pages on Lulu for you all to buy. Hoorah! What better gift could you give someone this Christmas? Probaby a PSP or a Wii, but a Mukpuddy Sketchbook should come in a close 2nd.

We've added buttons to the store on your left. But if your mouse cursor happens to right here, then click there to save time and effort. Smiles!

Hard 'N Phirm

Hey peoples.

Got a chance to work on something a little different last week. We were approached by the comedy duo Hard 'N Phirm (made up of Chris Hardwick & Mike Phirman) to make a poster for their current tour. And already being big fans of their work, we jumped at the chance. So below is the poster we came up with. The idea for the poster comes from (Chris' words) "old artwork that depicts science from an alchemists point of view, like instead of showing formulas to depict removing mercury from a substance the "directions" involve pouring a dragon out of a jar."

No offence to anyone who still use Dragons in their mercury removal, but that's hilarious!!

I've included a couple of sketches as well as the image we based the final poster on. Be sure to check out the Hard "N Phirm site too. Enjoy!

Final kids book piccys....

Heres a few pages from that last kids book we did. I drew all the stuff then we made them up in Flash, we would've loved to do more shading on them but we had the publisher breathing down our necks and just ran out of time... so sux!!! We're pretty stoked with how it turned out though....

A new kids book

Heres a few pics from another book we have just finished illustrating for Ashton Scholastic here in NZ. It's called "Farmyard Chorus" and is basically a "animal sounds" book! Hoo Raa for those!!!

Sometimes we make books...

Hey all , just thought we'd post a few samples of the book we just put uup at lulu.com that you can buy for a measly 11 bucks and 16 cents US (hint hint!!). Also thought we'd give ya a run down of our first kids book which is kinda old now, we finished it at the end of 2003 (we still love it but it doesn't really represent what we can do now), and basically thought we had come up with this cool little idea that we'd shop around to different publishers, who would love it and give us moola!! Of course we were wrong.. we didn't really anticipate the publishers "pc-ness", who all told us it didn't have enough local (New Zealand) content. So we've had very little interest from those small minded twats, but we reckon they're dickheads, then we stumbled across lulu.com......

Something else old...

Hey folks,

here's some more stuff we did a little while back, but you haven't seen it....so it's new to you!!
Last year we got approached to do some artwork for the official Big Day Out magazine (Big Day Out is New Zealand's equivilant of Ozfest, just a scootch smaller), it wasn't a very well paying job, but a cool job none the less, we said yes. So we were given the task of creating artwork for 2 of the headlining acts, Slipknot and System of a Down. We had complete creative freedom (which never happens) and this is what we came up with......

Something old...

Hey everyone, sorry for lack of updates but heres something we were trying to get made ages ago... our very own boardgame!!! Not sure what to call it but it's kinda like a "kart-style" video game but in a board game form... sounds crap!!! (but isn't!)

Kids Book..

Hey everyone, well it's time for a new update and we thought we'd post a few piccys from a kids book we've just finished. Creating kids books is something we've always wanted to get into, and we've got no shortage of our own ideas, but, honestly, illustrating this book has been quite a trying experience.

Mumfin Book Designs

Hi peoples, Tim here.

Recently, Ryan's been writing a kids book called, Mumfin. So I thought I'd have a go at designing the characters. This is the little boy so far. There's also a little girl and Mumfin himself (a creature thingy) so I'll probably do them to when i have a spare moment.

We're considering doing it in anaglyph 3d (the red and green glasses kind) so I'll do some tests and see if it's worth doing. I'll post them up for some feedback too, once they're done.

Enjoy

Tim
