A new kids book

Heres a few pics from another book we have just finished illustrating for Ashton Scholastic here in NZ. It's called "Farmyard Chorus" and is basically a "animal sounds" book! Hoo Raa for those!!!

Sparkle Friends Episode 2!!

Sorry for the delay, we had problems with the sound and had to put a few new dialogue bits in before we posted it online! Hey, here's some sketches from Episode 2 and 3 of "Sparkle Friends". Episode 3 was especially fun to draw for!!!

Sparkle Friends Episode 1

Well our first episode of "Sparkle Friends" aired here in NZ the Sunday just gone, it was all a bit nerve-racking, getting up super early (6:45am), sitting through bad cartoons (Digimon...yuck!!), to see our 3 minutes of air time, and hoping that the network hadn't changed anything without our knowledge. There were a few changes, but nothing major (phew!!), we were just stoked to see our stuff on tv!!

Just wanted to give ya a little run down of the show, for those of you not in New Zealand. "What Now" (the live show the episodes are played on) , use this stuff called "Gunge", which is basically slime that they cover the kids, hosts and guests with throughout the show. So we decided to incorporate this into the show and made up a little character we called "Gun-gi" that the Sparkle Friends befriend. He, basically, vomits gunge!!! Cool aye!

What are we up to Now!

Hey all, some of you may be wondering about our lack of posts recently, well I can tell you we've been hard at work on a series of 10 animated shorts for What Now? (a long running kids variety show here in New Zealand) called "Sparkle Friends".

Basically, we pitched the idea of taking the What Now presenters, or kid versions of them, and putting them into mundane situations (brushing teeth, playing cards, washing dishes etc) and turning it into an over-the-top japanese parody. So far it's been alot of work with crazy hours, seeing as we've had to produce 1 short a week, each one being 3 minutes long, but it's been really fun and has, definitely, evolved since it's conception into something we're really stoked with.

We're going to be posting up the 1st episode next week, as it airs this weekend (between 8-9am, Sunday 7th "What Now", for those Kiwis out there!), and we'll be posting some production work from the episodes as we go along, so stay tuned! But for now heres the 1st installment.....
