Horsing around!

We made a pilot! No silly... not a man who flies planes. A pilot is another name for the first episode of a TV show. Chuckle.

About a year ago our buddies Jamie & Ben (better known in New Zealand as 'Bill & Ben', the creators of the award winning comedy show Pulp Sport) approached us with an idea for a couple of characters called Edward the Horse and Warren the Rabbit.

We took their idea, fed it into the Mukpuddy Cartoon Making Machine, and baked it on high for several months. This is what came out the other side.

We think it's our best work yet, and are particularly proud that we made a NZ-flavoured cartoon that doesn't involve a kiwi. Some of the references may be a little too 'local' for our overseas viewers, but hopefully that will make it seem 'exotic'.

As usual, Alex's pencil went into overdrive. Here's some early development stuff for Ed and Warren...

Secondary character development...

Here's some layouts from the pilot...

And some backgrounds...

Let us know if you'd like to see more!

Guys you hit one out of the park!

I'm glad you posted the character development images. It was a perfect evolution. The final designs were obviously the perfect designs.

Wish you luck that it makes it. Furthermore that it makes it over here... While I'll watch it online, I'd like to see it on TV.

I remember a quote from Greoning writing futurama... "You can make a joke only 1 percent of the population gets, as long as it doesn't derail the enjoyment of the mass audience."

There were references I didn't get... but they didn't hinder my enjoyment.

Either way, the mild swearing and decapitations, drinking and over-flamboyance are a recipe for goodness in my books.

Such great work.

Great Stuff Muks!
I think the Bro'Town bit got the biggest laugh at Flipbook.
Can't wait to see more.

... Also you've given the rest of us more time to work on NZ toons starring a Kiwi.

Amazing! Most of our generation in Australia have seen Once where warriors; laughed my arse off. Easily the funniest new cartoon all year.
