Finally something new...

Hey there peeps, Alex here, well I finally got some half desent photos of the paintings I did an exhibition I was involved in last month. Seeing as it was my first exhibition, I was pretty nervous having my stuff on show (as you can see in the first pic below) and trying to price it was a nightmare!!!The show was organised by my awesome fiance Karla and it was a tribute to her mentor and good friend Phill Matthias who was killed last year. Phill was an awesome tattoo artist and one of the first people to tattoo commerically in Auckland and had his own studio here in Auckland city for 22 years!! (Hence why my stuff has a tattoo inspired feel to it)

10 other artists were involved, all of whom knew Phill and were his friends, the exhibition was a huge success and I sold all except the one which I entitled "Snakey McSkullison" (yes I made it up on the spot), which I gave to Karla.

Fan art

Here's a little piece of fan art from 7 year old Ally.

It's Alex, Jeremy, and Tim. She couldn't draw Ryan because he's too square!

Sometimes we make books...

Hey all , just thought we'd post a few samples of the book we just put uup at lulu.com that you can buy for a measly 11 bucks and 16 cents US (hint hint!!). Also thought we'd give ya a run down of our first kids book which is kinda old now, we finished it at the end of 2003 (we still love it but it doesn't really represent what we can do now), and basically thought we had come up with this cool little idea that we'd shop around to different publishers, who would love it and give us moola!! Of course we were wrong.. we didn't really anticipate the publishers "pc-ness", who all told us it didn't have enough local (New Zealand) content. So we've had very little interest from those small minded twats, but we reckon they're dickheads, then we stumbled across lulu.com......

Sometimes I like to buy Mukpuddy's Book

So we've finally got our old children's book, Sometimes, up at lulu (thanks to Saxton Moore for putting us onto that site) and it's available to buy as of now.

So head on over to our lulu store and purchase a copy of your very own.

Something else old...

Hey folks,

here's some more stuff we did a little while back, but you haven't seen it....so it's new to you!!
Last year we got approached to do some artwork for the official Big Day Out magazine (Big Day Out is New Zealand's equivilant of Ozfest, just a scootch smaller), it wasn't a very well paying job, but a cool job none the less, we said yes. So we were given the task of creating artwork for 2 of the headlining acts, Slipknot and System of a Down. We had complete creative freedom (which never happens) and this is what we came up with......

Something old...

Hey everyone, sorry for lack of updates but heres something we were trying to get made ages ago... our very own boardgame!!! Not sure what to call it but it's kinda like a "kart-style" video game but in a board game form... sounds crap!!! (but isn't!)

Jerry on the Top

Hey Folks,

We feel it's about time we introduce the newest addition to Mukpuddy Animation.

This is Jeremy Dillon.

Pretty isn't he?

For many years, Mukpuddy has just been the three of us, but this year, we thought we'd mix it up, and chuck in a fourth.

Jeremy has worked in children's television for 7 years, both in front and behind the camera.

He can't draw, he's way too old, and he's got a sordid reputation with the local tabloids, but who cares, he gave us a puppet, so he's in.

Welcome to Mukpuddy, Jeremy, you old galoot!

Theo, Rudy, and Denise.

Wait that's the Cosby kids.

Tim, Ryan and Alex.

We've been Podcasted...

Hey everyone, not an artwork update this time, just some really really cool news!!! Our music video we made for Pluto is one of the shorts being showcased on this weeks "Channel Frederator" podcast. We're huge fans of Channel Frederator and the Frederator Studios as a whole, and it's a real blast to be picked!!!

So a big thank you goes out to Melissa Wolfe and the team at Channel Frederator.... you guys rock!!!!

Kids Book..

Hey everyone, well it's time for a new update and we thought we'd post a few piccys from a kids book we've just finished. Creating kids books is something we've always wanted to get into, and we've got no shortage of our own ideas, but, honestly, illustrating this book has been quite a trying experience.

Some more skin for ya...

Since I posted the pic of my knucks, I thought I'd post some of my other tattoos that my Mrs has done on me!!! The thinking behind my tattoos is that I really want stuff that has inspired me to be the artist I am today....

I have more planned too, my Samurai Jack, Fosters, Mojo Jojo and Fraggle Rock tattoos are yet to come!!

It was done by my awesome fiance.... http://www.karla78.com

Mumfin Book Designs

Hi peoples, Tim here.

Recently, Ryan's been writing a kids book called, Mumfin. So I thought I'd have a go at designing the characters. This is the little boy so far. There's also a little girl and Mumfin himself (a creature thingy) so I'll probably do them to when i have a spare moment.

We're considering doing it in anaglyph 3d (the red and green glasses kind) so I'll do some tests and see if it's worth doing. I'll post them up for some feedback too, once they're done.

Enjoy

Tim

Don't flash me your cold hard one!!!!

Our buddy Aaron over at Cold Hard Flash has, once again, been nice enough to give us and our music video we did for Pluto a small plug on his site.... so go check it out!!!

Thanks Aaron, we owe you one pal!!!

Xmas Stockings

For no real reason, just thought I'd post a pic of the Christmas stockings I made with my girlfriend Karla!! It was deemed necessary to give the boy ones willies!!

Here's an example of the gems you'll find!...

Pluto - Baby Cruel Video

OOPS, LINK IS FIXED NOW. SORRY!!

Well, we're finally aloud to reveal the music video we've been working on for New Zealand band Pluto. It was done on a fairly small budget and the 3 of us completed it in about 3 weeks. Apart from the initial character designs and the bg's, it was made entirely in Flash. Making this vid allowed us to experiment a little with flash so next time around we'll hopefully come up with something even better. Right click here and "save as" to check it out. (It's around 6.9MB)

The band are extremely happy with the final vid, so that's cool. They liked the vid so much that we actually got commissioned to create a 1 minute animated skit, featuring the characters, so we'll post that for you to see as well. Check that out here at mukpuddy.com

Look forward to hearing what you guys think!!

Cheers

The Muks

Wrestling is real dammit!!

We've watched this like 100 times in the last hour and now that we've stopped crying with laughter, we thought we'd share it with those of you who may not have seen it. Ahhh, wrestling fans aye..........sometimes this world worries us.

Check it out (right click and "save as")

Update-a-roony

Hey Folks,

First off, HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Hope you all had a good one.

Well, we got a great reception from all the people who saw our Xmas idents, so we've been commisioned to do 10 more 15sec idents featuring each of the presenters on C4 (NZ Music channel). So that's pretty cool. We'll hopefully post them as we go. So stay tuned.

Our new years resolution is to actually complete our very own kickass animated short film that will go on to win an oscar and win much critical acclaim! However It's a good chance that only part of that will actually come true, but you cant win 'em all.

Anyway, we'll keep you posted on our progress, so hopefully that keeps the pressure on us to keep working on it. Guess I better start writing a script then!!!

Seeya, Ryan

Gobowise

Hey folks.

Alex just got the complete series 1 Fraggle Rock box set........and we just wanted to leave this with you...
